NUCAT (Nitte University Common Admission Test) 2023.

Please note that there​ will be no seat allotment through KCET or COMEDK. 

ADMISSION TO BTECH PROGRAM

BASIC ELIGIBILITY:  Pass in Class 12 or equivalent examination with not less than 45% marks as an aggregate in the optional subjects of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics, with English as one of the languages of study. The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.

  • GENERAL CATEGORY

    Candidates who are Indian nationals and have studied Class 12 in India, fall under General category. General category students are required to appear for NUCAT 2023, for admission to BTech program. Candidates appearing for Class 12 examination are eligible to apply for NUCAT.

    Registration

    Candidates can register on apply.nitte.edu.in on the dates specified in Table 1 depending on which Test the aspirant wants to take. The Information Bulletin containing the details of admission procedure through NUCAT will be sent to candidates after successful completion of their registration. NUCAT will be conducted through Remotely Proctored Online Mode ​on the dates specified in Table 1.

    Note: A candidate can take a maximum of 3 tests and the best of attempts will be considered for ranking. A Test registration fee will have to be paid during the online registration process for each test.

  • NRI/FOREIGN NATIONAL CATEGORY

    Candidates who are Foreign nationals, Persons of Indian Origin including Overseas Citizens of India or Candidates who have passed Class 12 outside India or Candidates who have passed Class 12 in India but sponsored by parents / blood relatives having NRI status fall under NRI/Foreign National category. The admission under NRI category will be based on inter-se merit considering the marks secured in PCM subjects in Class 12.

Nitte University Common Admission Test

Engineering aspirants can register their application online on apply.nitte.edu.in

A non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) has to be paid through the payment gateway during online registration for NUCAT. The fee can be paid through Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking / UPI Payment Modes.

NUCAT will be conducted in 3 phases. Last date for registering is as noted below:

Test 1: 21st January 2023 | Test 2: 3rd April 2023 | Test 3: 1st May 2023

The Test must be taken through a laptop/desktop as primary device. In addition, either a Tablet or a Smart phone must be used as secondary device, as 3rd Eye. Both these devices must be connected to the internet throughout the exam. (Section 7.1 of the NUCAT Information Bulletin provides detailed information regarding technical requirements)

Any correction required in the application form, may be emailed to info@nitte.edu.in within 2 days of registration.

  • 40 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics sections i.e. a total of 120 questions of 1 mark each to be answered in 120 minutes
  • Syllabus will be equivalent to that of Class 11 & 12 CBSE / State Board curriculum

No. There is no negative marking.

Yes. NMAMIT provides merit based scholarships based on NUCAT score. Twenty percent (20%) of the seats in each program / branch is set aside for toppers in NUCAT. Admission with a scholarship up to 40% of the prescribed fee will be offered to the candidates for these 20% of seats, based on inter se merit. All Government scholarships and Community based Organisations sponsored Scholarships can be availed, if eligible.

No. NUCAT is the only Entrance Test for admission to B.Tech at NMAMIT.

No. Besides General category, we have NRI category which is open to PIOs / Foreign Nationals / Students who have passed Class 12 abroad / Students who have passed Class 12 in India and are sponsored by NRI parents or blood relatives.

The merit list will be notified on the website nucat.nitte.edu.in The dates, schedule and procedural details of counselling will also be made available on this site.

Annual fee for the allotted program will have to be paid within the due date specified, for confirmation of admission.

Students are required to report at the college for cancellation of seat & refund of fee. A processing fee of Rs. 10,000/- will be deducted from the fee paid up to 30 days from the date of class commencement. No refund can be claimed after 30 days of class commencement.
