Admission Procedure for BTech Programs
Basic Eligibility
Pass in Class 12 or equivalent examination with not less than 50% marks in aggregate in the optional subjects of Physics, Mathematics and any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics, with English as one of the languages of study.
In addition to the basic eligibility criteria mentioned above, candidates should qualify in the Nitte University Common Admission Test (NUCAT) 2025 for BTech.
Candidates appearing for Class 12 examination are eligible to apply for NUCAT. However, he/she should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.
Candidates may note that there will be no seat allotment through KCET or COMEDK.
Admission Criteria
General Category
Candidates who are Indian Nationals and have passed Class 11 & 12 in India
Inclusivity Category
Candidates who are Indian Nationals and have studied for a minimum period of SEVEN YEARS between Class 1 and 12 in India, but outside the State of Karnataka, and have secured not less than 60% marks in the optional subjects of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in Class 12.
Admission to Engineering program under General & Inclusivity Categories is based on merit in NUCAT 2025.
Scholarships through NUCAT 2025
20% of the seats under General category are set aside as Scholarship seats for top ranked candidates in NUCAT & having not less than 80% marks in the optional subjects of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in Class 12 in certain programs / branches at NMAMIT, Nitte and in all programs / branches at NMIT, Bengaluru.
Inclusivity category candidates who fulfil the eligibility conditions for Scholarships, can compete for the Scholarship seats under General category.
The NUCAT 2025 Information Bulletin will be shared with the candidates after successful completion of registration.
NRI Category
The following are eligible for admission under NRI category based on marks secured in the optional subjects of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in Class 12 examination. Seats will be offered on the basis of inter-se merit.

Candidates who are Foreign Nationals / PIOs / OverseasCitizens of India. - Candidates who have passed Class 11 or 12 outside India.
- Candidates who have passed Class 12 in India, but sponsored by parents / blood relatives having NRI status.
